The aim of this series is to publish the highest quality academic achievements in biblical studies.

bible_WN5Sc_600x0The pivotal year for the transformation of Wheat Seed Ministries was the end of 2006, when Dr. Donald Carson was invited to deliver three messages at the Chinese Gospel Conference in Chicago. Thousands of Chinese Christians from across the United States heard this outstanding scholar preach and expound Scripture for the first time. Wheat Seed set up a booth at the conference, where many people encountered Wheat Seed for the first time and placed orders for the "Commentary on the Gospel of John". Readers were amazed that someone was willing to dedicate themselves to such a ministry.

After the publication of the "Commentary on the Gospel of John," the idea of publishing a series of biblical commentaries emerged. Chinese-language institutions are reluctant to attempt publishing a complete series of biblical commentaries due to several considerations: 1. Experienced chief editors, 2. Well-equipped translation teams, 3. Substantial funding, 4. Mature market operations, 5. Tedious administrative management, and 6. Close connections with the global Church. For a recently established organization with extremely limited resources and funding, publishing the entire series posed a challenging and risky endeavor. After a period of prayer and seeking, "Commentaries on Revelation," "Commentaries on the Letters to Timothy and Titus," "Commentaries on Psalms," and "Commentaries on Ephesians" were successively published. Some of these books became designated textbooks for theological schools. Economic assistance from two family foundations and some lay believers from 2005 to 2009 facilitated the smooth publication of this commentary series.

From 2008 to 2010, elite graduates from Trinity Theological Seminary, Westminster Theological Seminary, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Westminster Theological Seminary, and Evangelical Theological Seminary, all graduates of Western theological seminaries, joined the ranks of full-time translators. They translated with fidelity, diligence, reverence, and dedication, echoing the words of the Apostle Paul, "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow" (1 Corinthians 3:6). Indeed, ministry requires the collective effort of a team and the collaboration of many scholars with specialized expertise. Over these years, God has truly made it "grow." He has also paved the way in Chinese churches worldwide, guiding pastors and brothers and sisters with similar visions to organize Bible seminars, opening doors for evangelism. Pastor Qiusong Pan demonstrated and taught correct biblical exegesis in these seminars, where people from all walks of life read, listen to, share, and use this hard-won achievement.
